Paying tribute to our schools’ success, our principal David Hampton explained “At Strabane Academy we are absolutely delighted in terms of our GCSE results. Our exceptional A levels results have been backed up with more impressive GCSE results in terms of adding value to the pupils’ abilities, with the great majority of our pupils obtaining 5 or more GCSE’s at A* – C including English and Maths.
- Within our Grammar stream; 100% of all pupils achieved 5 or more A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths.
- When we look at the results for the whole year group, which includes a wide range of ability, 97% of the year achieved 5 or more GCSE grades at A*-C and 84% 5 or more grades at A*-C including English and Maths.
Top performers in each of our Pathways included:
In the Dennett Pathway, which contains the traditional Grammar subjects, the top performing girl was Emma Craig with 9A* grades and an A grade and the top performing boy was Patrick Walker with 7A* grades and 3A grades. Other top achievers included; Joanna McCombe 6A* grades and 4A grades, Emma Wallace 5A* grades and 5A grades, Katie Gamble and Lauren Mealiff 3A* grades and 7A grades, Lucy Aiken and Aaron Russell 3A* grades, 6A grades and B grade.
